Defense Is the Best Offense

This week was the first week of full practices (last week we had one try out day). Surprisingly our team is doing very well for the first couple real practices. The defensive and offensive plays that we practiced were executed well given it was the first time for most of these kids to have run the plays. Although we do need to work on some details of the game (i.e. double dribbling, correct passing, etc.) the overall fluidity of the practiced plays was solid. The way our team has been working and getting better makes me so much more excited than I already was. There is some bad news though. The best player on the team is no longer a part of the team because of grades. I am going to do my best to motivate him so we can maybe have him for the second half of the season. So far our team is looking solid and watching them practice gets me more excited. Stay posted for a schedule. Coach Durby has it. I just have not asked for a copy yet.

  1. How are the kids responding to the devotionals? What kind of response are you getting as their coach?

  2. I haven't been able to have any yet. I show up too late because they start right at 3. I've decided I will do devotionals before games instead.
